Christ dependency

What will we do when we are in the midst of a perfect storm? How will we response to averse situations or bad reports?

Many a times we look to the natural means to manage the averse situations. We will try our level best to combat the perfect storm. We will rely on our own strength to see us through. So the saying goes, if you don't take care of the issue at hand, no one will. If you are not the one to handle the situation, no one will. Also, if it is to be, it is up to me!

How far away from the truth we can be. We are totally limited in and of ourselves. There is only so much natural resources that we can tap on. There is only so much that we, in the natural, can do. Beyond that, there is absolutely nothing we can do about the bad situations, the dire straits, the bad reports, etc.

If only we will come to this realization as soon as possible. Without Christ, we are nothing. NOTHING!

With Christ, I have everything. The bible says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. We need to just trust Jesus to see us through the shadow of the valley of death. Nothing is impossible to God. Our part is to believe. When we depend on Christ Jesus, we will have good success. We, though already victorious in Christ, will come out victorious in our challenges when we rely on Christ's goodness and mercy to see us through.

In the natural, Lazarus had died for four days. Yet the moment Jesus stepped into the situation, Lazarus was raised from the dead. In the natural, the blind beggar had been blind for thirty eight years. The moment Jesus proclaimed his forgiveness of sin and his wholeness, he immediately was made whole and followed Jesus. In the natural, Joseph and Mary were poor. When Jesus was born, gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh came pouring in.

When we are Christ dependent, Jesus will see to it that we come out of it victorious. Jesus will never let the righteous soul to famish. His grace will not allow us to suffer more than what we are capable of bearing. God is faithful. He is love. We can depend on Him for our every need and want. Just believe and trust His loving kindness.

In the midst of a storm

Shalom.

When the disciples were trembling and possibly horrified by a storm while crossing the sea of Galilee, Jesus was sleeping peacefully at the back of the boat. The wind was howling and the waves were hitting the boat that they were on till a point they feared for their lives and woke Jesus up by shouting, "Master, don't you care that we are perishing?".

Jesus did something that was absoluteyl cool and awesome subsequently. He woke up. (just kidding) Jesus woke up and with a outstretched arm He calmed the storm by proclaiming, "Peace, be still.". And immediately, there storm ceased! There was perfect calm and the disciples didn't have to perish.

Some of us could be facing a storm that seems to have the power to totally destroy our lives. Beloved of the Lord, take heart for Jesus is with us. He'll never leave us nor forsake us. Look to Him for the answer to the storm and cease from all fears for He is willing and able to calm the storm in our lives. A stoke of His favour can transform our lives completely.

Regardless of the magnitude or severity of the storm we may be facing, behold Jesus and His finished work at the cross. For there lies our answer to our storm.

Perfect peace

In the midst of a perfect storm, there can be perfect peace.

This was best demonstrated when Jesus was crossing the sea of Galilee with His disciples. Some of His disciples were seasoned fishermen. To fear the storm the way they did must have been quite a storm. Yet, Jesus was not disturbed at all at what the devil was throwing at Him. He only woke up at the cry of His disciples. Immediately, He would calm the sea down.

This is the love of our Lord Jesus. He will come to our rescue the moment we look to Him for help. He is always with us as His word says He will never leave nor forsake us. He is aware of the difficult situations some of us are going through. He already has a plan to deliver us from those difficult situations.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all knowledge and understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

Jesus had left His peace with us while He was ascending into Heaven to be seated at the right hand of our Abba Father. This peace is not of the world but a knowing that our Lord is loving towards us and His love was demonstrated at the cross.
