Why Bother To Worship Jesus Christ

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." - Matthew 2:1 - 2:2 (NKJV)

After Jesus was born, wise men from the East came to look for Him to worship Him. Thinking that He should be at the king's palace, they went to approach king Herod enquiring about the whereabout of the King of the Jews. They eventually found their way to where Jesus was at and worship Him with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They probably knew the young child was no ordinary child and that could be the reason why they worshipped Him. After been divinely warned by an angel of not returning to Jerusalem, they departed from Bethlehem to their own country.

Of course what came after was a story about a king ordering the killing of male child around the age of two and below. But why the massacre of the young boys? Because the King of kings, the Lord of lords was born as a male child! And king Herod was afraid as he thought this little boy will one day take over the throne. Little did he know that this little Child is not coming to de-throne him but has come to save all the earth's people from their sin.

This little Child is definitely no ordinary child. He is the Son of God! He has come to give himself up as the sacrifical lamb at the cross so that people who believe He is Saviour and Lord can have right standing with God! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

What's the big deal about the sacrifice of Jesus at the cross?

That one completely complete work at the cross by Jesus Christ has made all those who believe in Him to have right standing with God. The divine exchange of His righteousness for our sin has taken place at the cross! And for those who believe in Jesus and His finished work at the cross can go to the throne of grace in times of need to cry Abba Father and the loving Heavenly Father will answer their every cry to Him!

And that's why we worship Christ Jesus! We worship Jesus for He is good! We worship Jesus for taking our place at the cross and for bearing all the wrath of God upon His own body! We worship Him for bearing all our diseases for by His stripe, we are healed! We worship Jesus because of His shed blood that keeps on cleansing us of all our sins. We give our praises to Him for He alone deserves all our praises and adoration.

We worship Jesus for all the good that He has done in our lives and for all the good that He is doing and continue to do in our lives. We thank Jesus for keeping us protected from all evil formed. We worship him for keeping us safe from known or unknown viruses! We thank Jesus for the shalom peace which He has bequeathed to us.

Needlessly to say there is no way we can completely describe what Jesus has accomplished for us. For the little we know about Jesus, lets just give Him our adoration and praise!

Imperfectly perfect

While we were still sinners Christ died for us to be one with God. Our
spirit men are made perfect while our souls and bodies are being renewed.

Even if there is only one soul left on earth, Christ will still die for
that ONE soul. We are saved not because we are good and obedient and
deserving. We are saved because Jesus had done the saving. The perfect One
had taken our place of transgression to make us sons of God.

We are not perfect as far as our thoughts and behaviours and actions are
concerned. However, we are completely complete in Christ. He had redeemed
us from the curse of the law. He had placed us at the right hand of God.
Because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the cross some two
thousand years ago, we can have whatever we ask or think of. I am not
referring to wanting another person's spouse. I am talking about the
necessities of our daily living.

If we need a big car because the family has need of it, God will provide
the resources for us to buy it. If we are in need of physical healing in
certain area of our bodies, Jesus will heal that area of concerned. If
there is a need to mend broken relationship, Jesus is the superglue who
will make the relationship wonderful. If we need to get out of a difficult
situation, Jesus will turn thing around for our good.

The perfect One had done it all at the cross. He proclaimed "It is
finished!". Whatever the imperfect ones, that's us, desire, the perfect
will see to it, in His perfect timing, that it is done. In spite of our
imperfections, we are already perfect in Christ. Hallelujah!

A rainy start to a brand new day

It is drizzling now. The sky is grey and the sun seems to have disappeared. Yet deep in my heart I know the sun is still shinning. Just because the cloud has covered the sun doesn't imply the sun is no longer there.

How often have I focus on the issues at hand and forget there is a Son. The Son of God had done a complete work at the cross some two thousand years ago. Divine exchange had taken place. God had not spared His only begotten Son at the cross, how much more will He not take care of my issues. He cares so much for me that He even counts the number of hairs on my head.

Knowing that God loves me gives me the assurance and confidence He will turn my situation around for my good. What a lovely Abba Daddy I have. What a wonderful Lord in Christ Jesus. What a mighty Holy Spirit in me. Hallelujah!
